Cabot is a one-of-a-kind regular-size Signature Series amplifier turned from an exceptional piece of black walnut with the kind of figure that seems to move across the surface. Deep chocolate and espresso-colored heartwood dominate the piece, while a narrow band of lighter golden wood along the edge of the horn creates a striking natural highlight.
What makes Cabot especially distinctive is the wild, swirling grain created around several small knots and branch features. Rather than flowing uniformly from one end to the other, the grain bends, curls, and circles around these features, creating multiple eye-like patterns across the body. From the side, those patterns stretch into long waves of contrasting grain that sweep toward the mouth of the horn.
Inside, the character becomes even more dramatic. Concentric growth patterns and undulating grain seem to spiral toward the throat, while areas of curly figure around the outer edge catch the light and create flashes of chatoyance. The result is a horn that can look considerably different as the viewing angle and lighting change.
Even the base carries part of the tree's story. A small natural branch feature intersects the growth rings near its edge, providing a subtle reminder that every pattern visible throughout Cabot was created by the growth of the original tree—not added afterward.
Hand-turned from a single piece of salvaged black walnut, Cabot earned its place in the Signature Series through exceptionally dynamic grain, rich coloration, natural knots, and figure that rewards being viewed from every direction.
