Fremont is a one-of-a-kind regular-size Signature Series amplifier shaped by the kind of natural irregularity that makes black walnut so interesting. The centerpiece is the dramatic bark inclusion and void sweeping along the side of the horn, surrounded by grain that bends, curls, and compresses as it flows around the feature.
Rather than removing that character to create a perfectly uniform surface, Fremont was turned to preserve it. The dark inclusion creates a rugged focal point against the warmer brown and golden tones of the surrounding walnut, while areas of curly figure and subtle chatoyance catch the light around it. Even the quieter portions of the piece show strong flowing grain that follows the amplifier's curves from the base toward the mouth.
Fremont is a great example of what makes our Signature Series different: the characteristics that would normally be considered imperfections in lumber become the very things that make the finished piece impossible to duplicate. Hand-turned from a single piece of salvaged black walnut, there will never be another one exactly like it.
