Marty is a one-of-a-kind Signature Series amplifier with some of the most dramatic fiddleback figure you could ask for in black walnut. Tight, repeating bands ripple across nearly the entire body, running from the base through the neck and exploding across the sweeping horn.
What makes Marty especially unusual is the abundance of light-colored sapwood. Instead of the traditional dark chocolate appearance of black walnut, creamy golden tones dominate the piece, providing the perfect backdrop for the darker bands of figure. The result is an almost striped appearance, with waves that seem to shift and move as the amplifier is viewed from different angles.
The figure continues all the way into the phone cradle and around the horn, giving Marty exceptional visual interest from virtually every direction. Hand-turned from a single piece of salvaged black walnut, this is a great example of how dramatically different the grain hidden inside one tree can be from the next.
